A tastelife response to Coronavirus

We’re here to help.

At a time such as this, we’re aware that for anyone dealing with eating disorders, life might feel especially difficult. We’re committed to supporting you, whether you’re suffering with this yourself,  you’re a friend or family member to someone who is, or you’re running the recovery course with tastelife already.

To this end, we’ve put together a small collection of useful tips, advice, and encouragements from the team here. Whilst the strange new normal is a new experience for all of us, we’re writing as people who have ‘been there’ when it comes to eating disorders. We hope you find it helpful.

Please do keep an eye on our social media channels for more content and points to connect!

I’m living with an eating disorder

If you would consider that you have an unhealthy relationship with food, and are finding that particularly hard to manage during this time, here are a few words that we hope will help you.

This isn’t a comprehensive rule-book, but rather some simple suggestions from those who understand.

We’d encourage you to join a virtual tastelife course too.

Surviving Well

I’m supporting someone with an eating disorder

When your friend or family member is living with an eating disorder, it’s never an easy thing to go through for yourself. During this crisis, we recognise that you may be under an increasing amount of pressure, and more isolated than usual. As well as our Do’s and Don’ts for Carers, we’re putting together some specific advice for this time.

We’d encourage you to join a virtual tastelife course too. Take a look on our homepage for info about current and future courses we have running.

I’m a tastelife leader

If you’re currently leading a course or looking to launch one soon, we’re here to help you. You’re expertly placed to continue to offer hope to those living with eating disorders, and running a virtual course over Zoom or another platform is a great way to do that. Our Network Coordinator Sarah has developed a few resources to help you get going, navigate the world of virtual meetings, and encourage your participants.

If you’d like some specific support or have any questions, please contact Sarah.Watson@tastelifeuk.org
